Lets Take A Walk 2015
Let’s Take A Walk is a non-profit, 10km, 50km and 100km endurance walking event organised by a group of like-minded volunteers from Raleigh Society who share the conviction to Pay It Forward. First started in 1997, this event challenges participants to push their mental and physical limits while raising funds for a good cause.
The name Let's Take A Walk was chosen to inject a spirit of spontaneity in an activity that is simple, attainable by most and yet challenging given the distance to be covered and the amount of time spent on one's feet.
The 2015 walk is based on the theme, Celebrate Life!. It is a simple reminder to seize the day and to appreciate what we have in the present. The mental and physical rigour that one experiences in completing the arduous 100km walk is little compared to the challenges faced by those who struggle daily with chronic and severe illnesses.
This year, the LTAW team aims to raise $90,000 through registration fees and donations. All proceeds (less operating costs) will be donated to HCA Hospice Care to support end-of-life care, and also to Raleigh Society to support its community projects.
