The future swimming stars of the Southeast Asian (SEA) region are set to pit against each other as the Mizuno 38th SEA Age Swimming Championships 2014 presented by Volkswagen runs from 6 to 8 June at the Singapore Sports School.
The 38th edition of the competition will see Singapore play host to nine other participating SEA countries.
There will be three categories for the various swimming events:
i) Group 1: 16-18 years old
ii) Group 2: 14-15 years old
iii) Group 3: 13 & under
A total of 263 athletes will be competing in the tournament, with 73 gold medals up for grabs.
Host country Singapore will be one country to look out for, after dominating the previous championships which was held in Brunei last year.
Singapore earned an overall haul of 29 gold, 25 silver and 24 bronze medals from the previous instalment of the tournament. Team Singapore hopes to replicate or improve upon that tally. The spotlight continues to shine on athlete Tan Jing E who bagged seven wins in individual events, set three championship records and four personal bests.
