Scoring in Silat

Scores are calculated differently across various events and Silat categories:


Tanding (Match) Category

Score 1 – A successful by hand, hitting the target without being blocked by a repulse/parry or evaded by the opponent.

Score 1 + 1 – Successfully parrying, dodging or evading an opponent’s attack, and following it up with a hand attack of your own.

Score 2 - An attack by foot successfully hitting the target without being blocked, dodged or evaded by the opponent.

Score 1 + 2 - Successful parrying, dodging or evading the opponent's attack, and following it with a successful attack by foot.

Score 3 – Demonstrating a dropping technique where the Pesilat succeeds in flooring the opponent.

Score 1 + 3 - Successful parrying, dodging, or evading of the opponent's attack, which is immediately followed by a successful dropping technique

Tunggal (Single) Category
In this category, the performance is judged by two factors:

1.    Accuracy of movement
The score is obtained by subtracting the penalty points from the total number of movements.
 
2.    Firmness of movement
The score focuses on four elements – movements, movement rhythm, soulfulness as well as power and stamina. The integrated score ranges from 50 to 60 points.

Ganda (Double) Category
The scores in this category are given according to the various elements of the performance.

1.    Score of attack-defense technique:
This score focuses on the richness and variation of attack-defense techniques, the logic behind it and weapon skill. The score ranges from 50 to 100 points.

2.    Firmness Score:
Judges consider the elements of firmness, harmony, courage, power and stamina of both Pesilats during the performance. The score ranges from 50 to 60 points.

3.    Soulfulness:
The harmony of expression of movement, soulfulness and the harmony of movement rhythm is judged. The score ranges from 50 to 60 points.

Regu (Team Category)
Judges have two types of scores in this category.

1.    Accuracy score - obtained by subtracting the penalty points from the total number of movements.

2.    Firmness/harmony/solidity score – according to the harmony, firmness, solidity, soulfulness, power and stamina of movements. The score ranges from 50 to 60 points.
