Where to learn archery in Singapore

Archery is a fairly uncommon sport in Singapore; you certainly cannot just stroll into your neighbourhood community centre and demand a set of bow and arrows to work with.  However, we have unearthed a few clubs for those keen to try it out!

ACE Archery
ACE Archery offers programmes for schools, CCAs, and even themed birthday parties; they also sell archery essentials, accessories, and tools. The club boasts the honour of having been engaged to organise an archery course for then Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong, along with 25 ministers and Members of Parliament.

Archery Club of Singapore
The Archery Club of Singapore aims to introduce archery to as many Singaporeans as they can, and provide coaching to those who wish to learn. Besides providing courses for schools and organisations, they also have in-house junior and youth training programmes that offers opportunities to young archery fans looking to compete.

Flaming Arrows Archery Club
Established to train up archers keen on honing their skills, Flaming Arrows Archery Club also conducts courses for beginners and recreational shooters. Moreover, their parent company, Flaming Arrows Private Limited, also has a range of archery products on sale for those in need of new equipment. This club is home to national archer Vanessa Loh, who has represented the country at the SEA Games in 2009 and the Youth Olympic Games in 2010.

DM Archery
Set up in 1999, DM Archery conducts archery courses for enthusiasts both locally and in the region. The company has introduced the sport to many beginners over the years, and several have gone on to become competent and competitive archers. With many qualified instructors on hand to coach at the outdoor ranges that the club operates, they seek to help uncover more local talents who have the potential to compete professionally.

Archery Forces
Led by experienced coach Terriss Chooi, Archery Forces handles the trainings of the HomeTeamNS Archery Club. Chooi, who possesses the highest possible certificate (Level 4 National Coach) from the National Archery Association of USA, is one of the most qualified archery coaches in Southeast Asia. The club also provides equipment services such as bow-tuning and arrow repair.
