Inaugural Esports Festival Asia at COMEX 2019 crowns first winners

Esports Festival Asia (EFA) has announced the winning teams of its four gaming tournaments held at COMEX 2019, where the teams competed for a combined prize pool of over $35,000 from 5 to 8 September 2019.

Here are the winners of the respective tournaments:

1) Asia Champions Esports (ACE) League

Mobile Legends Bang Bang

Champion: EVOS Esports SG

1st runner-up: Notorious Villians

2nd runner-up: Louvre

Mobile Legends has a prize pool of S$5,000 for the champions, S$2,500 for the 1st runner-up and S$1,000 for the 2nd runner-up.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG)

Champion: Axis X Bosskur

1st runner-up: Divinity Reapers

2nd runner-up: Divinity Gaming

PUBG has a prize pool of S$4,000 for the champions, S$2,000 for the 1st runner-up and S$800 for the 2nd runner-up.

DOTA Underlords

Champion: Autochess Dog

1st runner-up: SilverByz

2nd runner-up: Samuel ‘Sequinox’ Chan

DOTA Underlords has a prize pool of S$1,000 for the champions, S$500 for the 1st runner-up and S$200 for the 2nd runner-up.

2) China Mobile Esports League (CMEL) Singapore Qualifier

League of Legends (LoL)

Champion: Animal Kingdom

1st runner-up: Impunity

2nd runner-up: Resurgence

CMEL has a prize pool of S$5,000 for the champions, S$3,000 for the 1st runner-up and S$1,000 for the 2nd runner-up. In addition, the top team, Animal Kingdom, will represent Singapore at the CMEL finals in Chongqing, China, with flight and accommodation fully covered.

3) eXTREMESLAND 2019 SEA Qualifier

Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO)

Champion: Boot dream[S]cape

1st runner-up: Bren Esports

2nd runner-up: LaZe

CS:GO has a prize pool of US$1,000 for the champions, and US$500 for the 1st runner-up. In addition, the champion will represent Southeast Asia in the finals that will be held in Shanghai, China.

4) Regional finals of Female Esports League (FSL)

League of Legends (LoL)

Champion: Box Ladies

1st runner-up: Top 10 Dinos

2nd runner-up: Lannister by Overheat

3rd runner-up: Liyab Esports

FSL’s LoL has a prize pool of S$1,000 and five G512 gaming keyboards for the champions, S$750 and five G102 gaming mice for the 1st runner-up, S$500 and G640 gaming mousepads for the 2nd runner-up, and S$250 and G240 gaming mousepads for the 3rd runner-up.

Arena of Valor (AOV)

Champion: EVOSxBazaar 7Treasures

1st runner-up: Pho Bo Team

2nd runner-up: EVOS Esports

3rd runner-up: TNN

FSL’s AOV has a prize pool of S$1,000, five G933S headsets and five StygianForce Professionals Kit for the champion, S$750 and five G633S headsets for the 1st runner-up, S$500 and five G431 headsets for the 2nd runner-up, and S$250 and five G331 headsets for the 3rd runner-up.

Other highlights – Arena of Glory launch, Huawei Nova 5T smartphone and TVB stars

A new mobile multiplayer online battle arena game, Arena of Glory (AOG), was unveiled at EFA on the first day of COMEX on 5 September. Visitors were introduced to a competitive showcase of AOG on 5 and 6 September, where players must form a team of five and take down the opposing team’s base to be victorious. AOG will be launched in Singapore and Malaysia early November this year.

Huawei’s highly anticipated Nova 5T made its Singapore debut at EFA for visitors to get their first hands-on experience with the smartphone. Hong Kong’s Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) celebrities Grace Chan, Katy Kung and Shaun Tam were guest stars at EFA to meet fans on 6 and 7 September for their first joint meet-and-greet sessions in Singapore. They hosted interactive games for fans and 10 lucky winners walked away with a Samsung Galaxy Watch Active worth S$318 or a Samsung Galaxy Fit worth S$168. Fans were also treated to a showcase of Shaun playing with local professional esports players in CS:GO and PUBG.
