Singapore celebrates 2019 Olympic Day in conjunction with the Singapore Tennis Festival

More than 1,500 participants gathered at the Kallang Practice Track and Singapore Sports Hub to celebrate the Olympic Day today. Participants walked alongside Olympians such as Mr C Kunalan (Athletics), Mr Ajit Singh (Hockey) and Ms Tao Li (Swimming), and joined in the activities at the Singapore Tennis Festival organised by ActiveSG.

Mr Ng Ser Miang, executive board member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Chairman of the Singapore Olympic Foundation, flagged off the walk around the Kallang Practice and 100PLUS promenade at the National Stadium. He was joined by Ms Angelita Teo, the incoming director of The Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Mr Chiang Hock Woon, Deputy Chief Executive of Sport Singapore, Mrs Jessie Phua, Dr Tan Eng Liang, Mr Edwin Lee and Mr Chris Chan, members of the executive committee of the Singapore National Olympic Council. Olympian sailor Mr Koh Seng Leong delivered the Olympic Day on behalf of IOC President, Dr Thomas Bach.

The Olympic Day is celebrated by all National Olympic Committees around the world and promotes getting active and living the Olympic values.
