Liverpool came from behind to win yet again against Aston Villa while Angel Gomes' horrific ankle injury overshadowed the clash between Tottenham and Everton as Son Heung Min was reduced to tears for his part in the unfortunate injury.

Saturday’s fixtures (2 Nov)

Bournemouth 1 Man Utd 0

Arsenal 1 Wolves 1

Aston Villa 1 Liverpool 2

Brighton 2 Norwich 0

Man City 2 Southampton 1

Sheffield 3 Burnley 0

West Ham 2 Newcastle 3

Sunday’s fixtures (3 Nov)

Watford 1 Chelsea 2

Palace 0 Leicester 2

Everton 1 Spurs 1

Editor's thoughts: Having watched the replay, I don't think Son Heung Min meant any harm to Angel Gomes but it was his late tackle that sent the Everton player crashing into Aurier. Having initially received a yellow card, he was later red carded (wrongly so I feel) after the referee saw the full extent of the injury. Son himself was distraught after seeing the horrific injury to Angel and was inconsolable even before he was red carded. To be fair, he never meant to take out the player but his actions indirectly caused the injury and one can only imagine the trauma of seeing a fellow professional injured to such an extent. We can only hope that Angel Gomes makes a speedy recovery and get back on a football pitch soon while Son gets a fair review of his red card, which I feel was no warranted. Where was VAR when you needed it?
