Team Singapore paddlers Clarence Chew and Yu Mengyu will be making their debuts at the Seamaster T2 Diamond Singapore, alongside Feng Tianwei, as host exempted players.

They are not alone though as they will be joined by the world’s top players. The women’s field will be headed by top qualifier Sun Yingsha. World champions Ding Ning and Chen Meng are set to wow fans while Mima Ito leads a four-strong Japanese women’s squad.

On the other hand, the men’s field is headed by Xu Xin as he looks to lock horns with Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yun-Ju, winner of the Seamaster T2 Diamond 2019 Malaysia back in July.

The second and final event of the T2 Diamond 2019 season, the Seamaster T2 Diamond 2019 Singapore offers a combined prize money of US$500,000. ITTF ranking points are also up for grabs.

Supported by Sport Singapore, T2 Diamond’s revolutionary format sees games played on a “race to 11, no-deuce” format with a 24-minute clock, with T2’s trademark FAST5 compelling players to fight for every point.

Synonymous with innovation and excitement, T2 Diamond has initiated many firsts in table tennis including the use of the 360 degree circular field of play for the spectators to be closer to the heart of the action, video assistant referee (VAR) and the use of coloured rubber.

Jeff Chue, T2 chief executive officer, said: "The confirmation of entries by the world's best players is a testament to our tournament's unique proposition and the belief that T2 Diamond is leading the way for innovation in table tennis."
