Last Friday’s drizzle did little to dampen our Lions’ manes. In preparation for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018, four friendlies have been scheduled against Mauritius, Fiji, Mongolia, and Cambodia.
Currently halfway through the friendlies, the National Team’s performance shows some promise after going up against Mauritius and Fiji on 7 and 11 September respectively.
Despite Jonathan Justin scoring early for Mauritius, the Lions found their footing at the 74th minute thanks to Ikhsan Fandi’s goal. The match ended with a draw of 1 – 1.
Less than a week later, our team faced off against Fiji. Back to back goals by Hariss Harun and Ikhsan Fandi ensured victory for the Lions as the match ended with a score of 2 – 0.
The next match will be held on 12 October at Bishan Stadium against Mongolia. The Lions are scheduled to play against Indonesia in the Group B matches for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 on 9 November.
