Did you know there is a regular rugby programme taking place in Singapore schools? The annual Singapore Schools Sevens Series will culminate with the top two teams contesting the final at the National Stadium on Sunday 29th April. Last year, St. Andrew’s Secondary School and Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) made it all the way, with St. Andrew’s taking a deserved win in front of tens of thousands of screaming fans.

Children can also look forward to some exciting entertainment at this year’s event, with an enhanced line-up of fun and immersive zones offering many unforgettable adventures. The Transformers zone will offer photo opportunities with Transformers cut-outs, puzzles as well as arts and crafts. The Nerf-themed zone promises some target practice, while the My Little Pony Zone will appeal to young fans of Pinky Pie, Twilight Sparkles, Rainbow Dash, and Apple Jack.

Superdudes, Spartans, and Strider Adventures

Inspired by a funny and quirky children’s book, the Superdudes will bring their hilarity to the Sevens with highly interactive live performances that capture children’s imaginations in a playful and engaging way.

If you think your children are tough enough to be Spartans, they can test their mettle on challenges in and around the stadium from the world’s most famous obstacle race. Trying out Spartan’s signature obstacles should prove to be a very inspirational experience, so be sure to celebrate with them once they are done!

Get your camera ready because you will want to take a photo of your child atop a Strider bike. At the Strider Adventure Zone, kids between the ages of 18 months and five years can zoom around in a safe and enclosed space. There will also be a Strider Bike Race open to Strider Balance Bike owners who are between the age of 2 and 5 on the afternoon of Sunday 29th April.

If all this sounds like too much fun to miss, head down to the upcoming HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens on 28 and 29 April. No matter their age or interests, the whole family is guaranteed to have a blast! Get your tickets here.
