5 things to do in Singapore this October

It’s officially the month of Halloween, and with it October brings along an array of activities for everyone of all ages here in Singapore. From a sunflower exhibition at Gardens by the Bay to the upcoming Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Finals, here’s what October has to offer.

1. A Night Of Stranger Things

In its 8th year running, Universal Studios Singapore invites you to step into Eleven’s world, small town Hawkins, Indiana by navigating through a maze and avoid being scared by the Demogorgon. Not a fan of Stranger Things? Not to worry, USS Halloween Horror Nights has other ghouls and ghosts aplenty to send chills down your spine; you can choose to go back in time to Edo-era Japan or even get up close and personal with the Pontianak this month. It’s totally your choice.

2. Follow the Yellow Brick Road

From now till the 21st of October, the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay Singapore has been transformed into a replica of our favourite, timeless tale – The Wizard of Oz. Amidst more than 10,000 sunflowers of various shapes and sizes, come follow in the footsteps of Dorothy and Toto as they take a trip down the Land of Oz as your eyes feast on the magnificent blooms the Dome has to offer.

3. Oktoberfest

What is October without the celebration of beers? Come be a part of the biggest Oktoberfest in Singapore from 18-21 October. With a variety of beers from breweries such as Paulaner Bräuhaus and Weihenstephan and a spread of gourmet Bavarian food, you are sure to be transported to the heart of Germany.

4. Little Day Out

Take your little ones out on an adventure this month as the kids enjoy free admission to not just the Singapore Zoo, but the River Safari and Jurong Bird Park as well to learn how to be an eco-ranger and save our wildlife one plastic at a time. 5. Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Finals 2018

Last but not least, tennis fans are in for a treat as up and rising tennis star, Naomi Osaka will play at the WTA finals after being the third singles player to qualify for the finals in Singapore. Find out this October as Singapore gets ready to host the WTA finals for the last time from the 21st to 28th October at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The Singapore Tennis Festival (STF) is also back once again from 1 to 31 October, a month-long, island-wide celebration leading up to the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Finals.
