We have been contributing to Singapore football for fourteen years and this will be a big step towards realising our goal of becoming a local club.”
Mr Korenaga added: “Albirex acts as a bridge between Japan and Singapore through sporting activities. In addition to the Albirex-ActiveSG Football Programme, we also have the Yuhua Albirex Football Academy which is currently in its 4th year of running. These two programmes will be important pillars for us to assess our performance. We will continue to work hard to expand these activities to benefit more Singaporeans."
Mr Lai Chin Kwang, Chief of ActiveSG, said: "We are happy to partner Albirex, who has been committed to promoting grassroots football for many years. We look forward to exchanging knowledge and ideas with them.
Mr Lai concluded: “Albirex shares with us the same belief that football and sport can be a great way to bring different communities together. More than just playing football, we will encourage our local children to use this chance to interact with their peers from Japan and to learn more about their culture.”
