ActiveSG was at the Singapore Cancer Society's Relay for Life over the weekend to encourage Singaporeans from all walks of life to lead healthy, active lifestyles; and to combat cancer, which is the leading cause of death in Singapore.
The overnight event at Bukit Gombak Stadium brought members of the Singapore Cancer Society and the wider community together to support the fight against cancer.

The 17-hour event was made up of three parts: celebrating the lives of cancer survivors, remembering those who have passed on, and fighting back against the disease.
"We want to make sure we bring cancer awareness to a greater awareness where everybody can recognise (that) they have a role to play in the fight against cancer," said Albert Ching, CEO of Singapore Cancer Society.
Along with other organisations that had booths at the venue, Singapore Cancer Society also partnered with ActiveSG to setup an athletics booth with the aim to encourage an active lifestyle.
"I'm glad we came because we have all these volunteers and some of the cancer recovering patients who also had a little go at it, but mainly it's for the spectators and volunteers," said C Kunalan, Senior Manager at ActiveSG Athletics Club

ActiveSG also held a silent Zumba workout where participants wore headphones and danced away into the night.
"For ActiveSG, we believe our objectives are rather similar because one of the ways to fight against cancer is to live healthily; participating in activities like walking and doing exercises regularly," Ching said.
"Secondly, one of the objectives of this event is to bring more corporations to come forward to show support for their staff who may be cancer survivors or caregivers; this is a community that needs a lot of support from the corporates."
