Tampines Rovers Football Club star, Jermaine Pennant, made a surprise appearance at the Saturday Night Lights (SNL) football programme on 26 Mar as part of the Club’s first community outreach activity involving Jermaine Pennant to inspire aspiring young football players.
The event saw Pennant sharing his love of football in his motivational talk to about 80 youth from the programme. He was also on the field to help them with some drills and answered questions fielded by the SportCares kids.

Now in its third year, SNL is SportCares’ flagship sport participation and social development programme that uses the passion of socially disadvantaged youth for football to motivate them to take control of their lives, gain valuable life skills and develop a strong sense of team spirit.

Since the announcement that Pennant will be joining Tampines Rovers early this year, the footballer has made waves in the local football scene. Fans and players alike are motivated by his move, expecting Pennant to raise the level of football in the S League and raising the profile of the sport in the region.
