Rugby Singapore kicked-off its ‘Show Your Colours’ marketing campaign to promote the 2017 HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens by unveiling its revamped website today.
The 2016 edition of HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens at the Singapore National Stadium was a success online and offline. The second day attendance of 27,053 surpassed the record of 16,000 set when Singapore last hosted the World Sevens Series in 2006. Additionally, over 97,000 unique visitors used the official website (www.singapore7s.sg
) and spent an average of 2.32 minutes online – representing a combined visiting time of 6,700 hours interacting with the Singapore Sevens.
Promotion celebrating revamped website offers free event T-shirt for early ticket buyers
Rugby Singapore today relaunched the official website – www.singapore7s.sg
with a promotion that offers the first 5,000 fans to purchase Category One S$120 tickets a free commemorative t-shirt. The promotion runs till 31st December 2016 or till stocks last.

The revamped website promises better interactivity and enhanced video content, while overseas visitors to the site can expect to learn more about the integrated Sevens experience awaiting them in Singapore. Overseas fans can book hotels at special rates or browse the list of Official Travel Agents promoting Singapore Sevens packages. A host of special offers and discounts at attractions and participating outlets across the island await Singapore Sevens ticket holders.
“We are very excited to launch our new ‘Show Your Colours’ campaign,” explained Sam Chan, General Manager of Rugby Singapore. “The HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens is a colourful affair with 16 top teams and their fans from around the world gathered in a carnival atmosphere over a weekend. Ours is one of the most family-friendly events on the World Sevens Series and we hope more Singaporeans and overseas visitors will attend the 2017 tournament in fancy costumes and show their support for their favourite teams and players.”

Visitors to the 2016 Singapore Sevens were impressed by Singapore National Stadium’s unique concourse area which allows fans to interact without missing any action. The surrounding Promenade also allows for many interactive activities for rugby fans young and old under the cool shade of the Stadium’s domed structure.
In addition to the revamped website, the ‘Show Your Colours’ marketing strategy is expected to include outdoor, a print, TV and radio spots, on-ground events and a social media campaign. The revamp of the website is led by Pico Pixel, who were picked from 18 bidding agencies. In addition to digital marketing, Pico Pixel will also be managing creative, media, social and activation. Empower Marketing Asia and Enterprise Sports Group were retained as agency on record for public relations and commercial, respectively.
Hugely popular Volunteer Programme sign-up available on official website
The 2016 Volunteers Programme was oversubscribed twice over and the 300 selected volunteers helped made the event a spectacular success. The revamped website allows for volunteers to register online, and returning volunteers can do so right away while new volunteers can sign up between 24th November and 11th December. Volunteers get the unique opportunity to work on a world-class sporting event and their responsibilities include team liaison, transport, hospitality and match management.
“Volunteers are the heart of every successful sporting event,” said 2016 Team Relations Manager Clarence Lam. “The volunteers at the 2016 Singapore Sevens lived up to their promise, displaying dedication and determination to complete tasks despite a very challenging schedule.
