Property developer CapitaLand Ltd put out a strong call to Singaporeans to volunteer their time and energies to good causes with its #100KHope Hours Challenge.

For every hour of volunteerism pledged by the public, CapitaLand Hope Foundation committed to donating $10 to charities in Singapore through the President’s Challenge and to needy causes in the region. SportCares and Team NILA (the volunteer development team at Sport Singapore) committed a combined pledge of over 148,000 hours.

Alongside Team NILA, SportCares will be fielding volunteers for the upcoming ASEAN Para Games 2015 in early December. At Raffles City on Saturday, CapitaLand presented a cheque for $300,000 to Guest-of-honour Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, President of Singapore. Dr Tan also pledged his support for APG 2015 in a photograph with the volunteers from SportCares and athletes from Team Singapore.
