Fresh from his historic gold medal triumph in the 100m butterfly on Wedneday, Team Singapore swim star Joseph Schooling will look for more glory in Incheon in the Men's 50m Butterfly final on Thursday evening.

Schooling’s win on Wednesday had delivered Singapore's first Asian Games Gold in men's swimming since Ang Peng Siong's 100m freestyle triumph at the 1982 New Delhi Games, but there was little time for celebrating as the 19-year-old was back in the pool at the Munhak Park Tae-Hwan Aquatics Center on Thursday morning, finishing third fastest in qualifying for the 50m butterfly with a time of 24.10 seconds.

Schooling is now within reach of a medal treble as the 19-year-old had also won a Bronze in the 200m butterfly event on Sunday.

In the Men’s 100m Freestyle, Team Singapore’s Clement Lim qualified for the finals thanks to a time of 50.86 seconds, but Danny Yeo missed out after posting 51.43 seconds.

In the Women’s 800m Freestyle, Lynette Lim was first placed (8:52.45) and Rachel Tseng second (8:58.59), and their overall ranking will be determined after the fastest heat this evening.

Team Singapore’s Women's 4x100m Medley Relay team of Tan Jing E, Samantha Yeo, Quah Ting Wen and Nur Marina Chan will compete in the final after their time of 4:20.88 was fourth fastest in qualifying.

In the Women’s 50m Breaststroke, Roanne Ho’s time of 33.21 seconds booked her a place in the final but teammate Samantha Yeo narrowly missed out with her timing of 33.26 seconds.

Rainer Ng finished 12th out of 15 competitors in the 200m Backstroke event with a time of 2:09.10 and did not qualify for the finals.
