Incheon Daily: Final Bow for Schooling

Team Singapore will have two swimmers in the Women’s 50m Freestyle Final on Friday while treble medal winner Joseph Schooling will be back in the hunt again as part of the Men’s 4x100m Medley Relay team.

The Men's 4x100m Medley Relay team comprising Schooling, Rainer Ng, Christopher Cheong and Clement Lim finished sixth fastest in the morning qualifying session with a time of 3:46.73 to give them a chance to take on the big guns of China, Japan and South Korea in Friday’s final.

In the Women’s 50m Freestyle, Amanda Lim was sixth fastest in qualifying with a time of 25.81 seconds while Nur Marina Chan qualified in eighth position with 26.21 seconds.

Schooling won Silver in Thursday night’s 50m Butterfly, adding another medal to his Bronze in 200m butterfly and Gold in 100m, and he would love to bow out of his first Asian Games with another medal along with a success for his teammates.

In the Men’s 1500m Freestyle (slow heat), Teo Zhen Ren finished fourth with a timing of 16:08.75 – the overall ranking will be determined after the fast heat tonight.

In the Women's 200m Backstroke, Tan Jing E finished 12th out of 14 competitors with a timing of 2:25.82. She did not qualify for this evening's finals. Samantha Yeo and Tan Jing E also did not make the finals of the Women’s 200m Individual Medley.
