The Singapore Team Welcome Ceremony took place today at the Commonwealth Games Village, in Glasgow. This traditional ceremony usually takes place in the days leading up to the Opening Ceremony; it officially welcomes athletes and team officials to the village.
The Welcome Ceremony features the raising of each nation’s flag, the playing of its national anthem and a cultural performance reflecting the music, culture and traditions of Glasgow and Scotland. Written and produced by the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, the 30-minute performance was done by a cast of 50 youths aged 18-24.
The Commonwealth Games will take place from 23 July – 3 August.
