World Sport Group (WSG), the event promoter for the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, announced the launch of the volunteer recruitment drive for the prestigious season-ending event taking place from October 17-26, 2014. Coined the “Finals Force”, the volunteer recruitment program is accepting registrations from June 18 until July 11, 2014. Interested candidates may submit their application via World Sport Group’s official recruitment website.
There are a multitude of positions available that offer volunteers a first-hand look at the behind-the-scenes organization of a premier global event. Opportunities include working in the heart of the action for Court Operations, engaging the public at the Fan Festival, providing first-class Hospitality and Guest Services, tending to spectator enquiries in Information Services, and ensuring the smooth running of the event in Venue Support roles.
Successful candidates for the approximately 250 available positions will be notified by the end of August, following a round of interviews. Volunteers need to be 16 years and above, physically fit, fluent in written and spoken English, and available over the event period of October 17 – 26, 2014. They are required to commit to all scheduled training sessions and attend the Volunteer Briefing on Saturday, October 11, 2014.
“We are excited to launch the “Finals Force” volunteer program for the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global,” said Sarah Clements, World Sport Group’s Director of Operations for the WTA Finals. “Through this program, we hope to give Singaporeans the opportunity to be personally involved in staging a world-class tournament, gain valuable behind-the-scenes experience, and showcase Singapore’s spirit of excellence to the world.”
Members of the “Finals Force” will have the opportunity to be in the heart of the 10-day sports and entertainment festival comprising non-stop tennis action, exhibitions and fun activities, watch the sporting action live at the brand new Singapore Sports Hub, and receive exclusive event memorabilia as part of their contribution.
