Singapore, 16 May 2013 - The Singapore Sports Council (SSC) plays host to the 2013 NSC-SSC Inter Council Games this week, an annual sports event which looks to strengthen bilateral relations between Malaysia’s National Sports Council (NSC) and SSC.
Kicking off on Thursday morning at Pasir Ris Sports Hall, staff from both councils will compete across seven sports over the next three days with the Games serving as a platform to foster camaraderie between both organisations through sport.
Voicing his appreciation for NSC’s hospitality in hosting last year’s Games in Kuala Lumpur, SSC CEO Mr Lim Teck Yin said it is now SSC’s turn to return the favour in this year’s event.
“Thank you for the hospitality you showed us last year, and thank you for bringing a strong contingent to Singapore. These are friendly games and competitive games. We wish all the best to everyone taking part,” said Mr Lim.

He said, “The Games provide a wonderful platform for us to network, interact and make friends with each other.”
“We feel very touched by the warm and friendly welcome from the SSC. We convey our heart-felt appreciation to the SSC especially CEO Mr Lim for the support given to us. Enjoy and good luck for the games.”
The Games was officially declared opened after Mr Lim and Mr Rashid completed a friendly game of darts, before a gift exchange between members of the two councils completed the Opening Ceremony.
Netball, Darts, Tennis, Badminton and Table Tennis make up the games on the first day of the Games, with Football and Ten-pin Bowling to take place on Friday.
