The 2013 edition of OCBC Cycle Singapore is expected to be the biggest one yet, with reportedly over 11,000 cyclists having signed up as of last Wednesday ahead of the registration deadline on Sunday. The premier cycling event in Singapore, which claimed Best Sports Event (Local) at last year's Singapore Sports Awards, will take place from 26-28 April 2013 at the F1 Pit Building and caters for cyclists of all ages and abilities.
This year's race will feature The Community Ride (24km), The Mighty Savers Kids Ride – Accompanying Adult with Child (5km), The Super Challenge (61km), and brand new ride category The Foldies Community Ride (24km),as ride categories to have reached maximum capacity.
There is also The Challenge (42km) and The Business Times Charity Challenge (42km), and traditional Men’s Open, Women’s Open, and Masters’ Criterium which will be staged on 26 April prior to the Professional Criterium in Singapore’s largest mass participation cycling event on closed public roads.
Perhaps most interestingly is the Ultimate Foldies Challenge, a category in which cash prizes will be handed out to best dressed Foldies throughout the day, and one which requires a mix of skill, speed and style in an enthralling competition around the F1 Pit Building.
