Eight international sailing teams will arrive in Singapore next month to compete in the Extreme Sailing Series: Singapore, an international sailing event new to the local sports calendar. Featuring a fleet that comprises Olympic heroes, America’s Cup sailors and world champions, Singapore is the second Act of an eight-Act global tour that spans the Middle East, Asia, Europe and South America.
Set against the iconic backdrop of the Singapore skyline at the Marina Bay Reservoir, the event will spoil spectators with a host of festivities, with the Race Village located near Fullerton Bay Hotel, all-day free entertainment for spectators with activities for the family, music entertainment, food and beverage stalls and exciting on-water activities such as the NeilPryde Windsurfing Racing Series, Optimist and Moth sailing.
Spectators will also enjoy complimentary access to the Race Village where they can experience close quarter Stadium Sailing right in the heart of Singapore with the boats sailing metres from the shore.
The event will also feature a Singapore team for the very first time. Aberdeen Team Singapore, skippered by Singaporean Scott Glen Sydney, will race against some of the world’s best sailors on home waters. Come support Aberdeen Team Singapore and don’t miss out on the exciting action that will take place from 12 to 14 April.
