Singapore, 5 November 2013 – Netball Singapore has closed registration for the M1 Corporate Challenge ahead of schedule due to overwhelming response for the event which takes place on Saturday 16th November at Kallang Netball Centre.

A total of 48 teams, including entries from DBS Bank, Deloitte and Touche LLP, Ernst and Young, FairPrice, HSBC, Microsoft, the Singapore Stock Exchange, title sponsor M1 Limited and their telecommunications rival SingTel, have signed up for the day-long netball competition, with four teams currently on a reserve list.

"We are very happy with the overwhelming response to the inaugural M1 Corporate Challenge, and we look forward to a challenging and fun workout," said Mr P. Subramaniam, Chief Marketing Officer of M1.

During a mid-day break, M1 Senior Management Executives and sports journalists from TODAY, The New Paper and The Straits Times will play an exhibition match against sporting Members of Parliament including Lawrence Wong, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information.

Netball Singapore President Jessica Tan has been leading the way with her Parliamentary colleagues with practice sessions to ensure they put on a good show for the crowds.

She said, "We are all looking forward to our time on court at the M1 Corporate Challenge and I am delighted to hear how well the event has been received by corporate employees in Singapore. It shows there is a real interest in having fun and working as a team with colleagues outside of the office environment. For those who have a team entered, the netball court is going to provide the perfect platform for them to take on a challenge together and enjoy a great day out."

Alongside the exciting netball matches, participants and spectators can look forward to a party atmosphere as a DJ plays court-side, refreshments and a photo booth to capture the memorable moments.
