SKC (Sin Kee Cesk ) won the Under 18s Boys title at the 34th MILO Junior Boys and Girls Basketball Championship, beating the Falcons 73-56 in Sunday’s final to finish the competition undefeated.

The two teams had already met twice before the final, in the group and winner pool stages, with SKC winning each time.

In the final, SKC jumped to an early lead in the first quarter, before the Falcons fought back, cutting the deficit to just two points at half-time. But in the second half, SKC regained control, outscoring their rivals 40 points to 25 to win by 17.

When asked about his team’s win, SKC coach Sim Chee Siong, said his players had all “stepped up” when they needed to perform and their victory was a reward for all the hours spent in training.

The Falcons did not go away empty-handed, winning the boy’s under 15s title, without losing a single match. In the final, the Falcons defeated Tagawa 48-38.

Siglap Basketball Club won the girl’s under 18s final, beating Clementi Youth 42-38 in a thriller between two teams who had perfect unbeaten records going into the final.

Siglap raced to a 15-point lead at half time but Clementi chipped away at their opponent’s advantage in the second period. They eventually cut it to four points but Siglap held their nerve to close out the game.

Siglap coach Lim Kean Ann said the team were proud of their performance against a very strong opponent. Lim singled out Jayne Chan and national U18 basketball player Choo Jie Ying for their consistent play throughout the tournament. The pair combined for 18 points in the final.

T-Net Club @ Bukit Merah won the under 15’s girl’s finals, avenging their loss to Clementi Youth in the group phase by winning the final 53-42.
