Table Tennis

The Republic’s women’s team were made to fight for their gold but finally prevailed over Thailand to triumph at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Led by world number four, Feng Tianwei, Team Singapore beat the Thais 3-2 in the best-of-five match up.

The men’s team also secured the team gold with a 3-1 victory over the Vietnamese.


Gymnastics

In the Women's Individual All-Around, Nadine Joy Nathan won a bronze medal with a total Score of 51.000. Her teammate Janessa Dai finished 8th out of 11 with a total score of 47.200.

Boxing

Singapore's female boxers won two bronze medals in their first appearance at a SEA Games. The Republic’s fighters finished a creditable third in the women's light-flyweight and flyweight categories.

Leona Hui lost by unanimous decision to Josie Gabuco of the Philippines in her Semi-final and Ang Fen Ni was defeated by Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Yen in her flyweight semi by the same ruling.


Wushu

A brilliant performance from Lee Tze Yuan earned him a gold medal with a score of 9.71 in the Men's Taijiquan Finals. Samuel Tan won the silver medal after impressing the judges in the Men's Compulsory Taijiquan to collect a score of 9.69.

In the Women's Optional Taijijian Finals, Valerie Wee won silver with an impressive score of 9.71.

The trio of Fung Jin Jie, Tan Xiang Tian and Jaryl Tay dominated in the Men's Duel Event (Barehand) Finals, scoring 9.70 to finish off the Wushu events in style.

The final tally for Wushu at the 28th SEA Games is 6 Golds, 3 Silvers and 3 Bronzes.

Football

The Lions remain in contention for a place in the last four of the tournament after a 3-1 win over Cambodia. Two quick goals on the stroke of half-time from Safirul Sulaiman and Faris Ramli gave Singapore a comfortable lead at the interval and after Cambodia pulled one back, Mohamad Sahil Suhaimi made it 3-1 with a cool finish near the close.

Singapore will play their final group game against Indonesia on Thursday in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.


Diving

The TeamSG female divers earned Singapore another silver in the Women's 3m Synchronised Springboard Finals with a score of 2.42.94. 

In the Men’s 10m Platform, Jonathan Chan earned a bronze medal with a score of 356.55.


Billiards and Snooker 

Peter Gilchrist won his second gold medal of these Games after beating Malaysian Aung Yhat 3-0 in the Men's Billiards Singles. The win is his fourth consecutive triumph in the event after victories in 2009, 2011, 2013. 

Boon Chin won a joint Bronze in the men’s snooker singles after Malaysia’s Thor Chuan Leong beat him 4-1.
