SG Daily: Round Up Of Other Medals on 14 June

Gymnastics 

Singapore celebrated a gold medal in the Rhythmic Gymnastics with the elegant team of  Ann Sim, Dawne Chua, Edlyn Ho, Noelle Goh and Alison Tang, impressing the judges with a score 27.7 and beating Malaysia by just 0.3 points. The triumph was the first ever for Team Singapore in the SEA Games.


Pencak Silat

Team Singapore Pencak Silat exponent, Alfian Juma’en retained his title with another gold medal for Singapore. The defending champion defeated his Vietnamese opponent 5-0 in the Men’s Tanding Class F (70kg to 75kg) Finals.


Volleyball

The Team Singapore Women’s Volleyball team earned a well-deserved bronze medal on Sunday after being bested by the outstanding Vietnam team 3-0.


Waterski

In the Women’s Overall Finals, Kalya Marisa Kee won a Bronze with a total point of 1408.38. Kee finished first in slalom with a score of 4.50/55/16.00m. In Tricks, she finished third with a score of 1310 and inJjump she has finished third with a distance of 19.00m.

There was a silver medal for Team Singapore in the Mixed Team Wakeboard. In the finals, the quartet of Sasha Christian, Gooi Jia Yi, Samuel Chua and Joshua Tay finished with a total of 255 points.


Rowing

The Republic’s rowers secured the silver in the Lightweight Men's Four (1000m). The team of Pek Hong Kiat, Nadzrie Hyckell Hamzah, Syahir Ezekiel Rafa'ee and Lee Zong Han finished second out of six teams with a time of 3:05.25. 

Saiyidah Aisyah won her second bronze in Rowing for Singapore after coming in third with a time of 3:59.01, in the Lightweight Women’s Single Sculls (1000 m). Aisyah was just 0.08 seconds behind the Indonesia’s silver medalist.

In the Women's Pair (1000m) Finals, Joan Poh and Joanna Chan won the bronze after coming in almost 14secs ahead of their closest challengers for the spot - Malaysia.

Overall, the rowing team concluded with a silver and three bronze medals.
