Team Singapore swimmer Tao Li bagged the nation yet another medal on Day 4 of the 17th Asian Games in Incheon when she finished third in the Women's 100m Butterfly final on Tuesday evening.

This is Tao Li's second medal at this year's Games – she won Silver at the Women's 50m Butterfly on Monday – and it is Singapore's sixth. She swam a modest timing of 1:01.71 in the heats held earlier in the morning at the Munhak Park Tae-hwan Aquatics Center, and it looked obvious that she was conserving her strength for the final, as she went on to clock 59.08 seconds, ensuring that she has now won a medal for this event at every Asian Games since her debut in 2006.

Chinese swimmer Chen Xinyi, who clocked 58.56 seconds to rank as the fastest qualifier, maintained her fine form and grabbed Gold with a new Asian Games record of 56.61 seconds. Her compatriot Lu Ying took Silver with a timing of 58.45 seconds.

In the other women's event, Team Singapore's 4x200m relay team, comprising Quah Ting Wen, Lynette Lim, Rachel Tseng and Amanda Lim finished fifth with a timing of 8:12.09.

In the Men's 400m Freestyle finals, Danny Yeo finished sixth out of eight swimmers with a timing of 3:55.39. Chinese swim star and Olympic gold medallist Sun Yang was the fastest with a timing of 3:43.23, followed by Japanese hot shot Hagino Kosuke (3:44.48 ) and home favourite Park Taehwan (3:48.33).

Team Singapore's swimmers will again be in action on Wednesday, when Joseph Schooling has another shot at glory in the Men's 100m Butterfly.
