Singapore's judokas did well to reach the round of 16 today at the Dowon Gymnasium. Gabriel Yang Yi, competing in the men's -90kg event, impressed as he took out his Nepali competitor Shree Ram Makaju in the round of 32, needing just over a minute to secure the ippon. He later put up a good fight against China's Cheng Xunzhao in the round of 16 but was beaten by ippon after one minute and 29 seconds. Compatriot Ho Han Boon (+100kg) lost his round of 16 fight, also by ippon, to Uzbekistan's Abdullo Tangriev.

At the wushu competition, Team Singapore's exponents Vera Tan and Valerie Wee put in fine performances at the Ganghwa Dolmens Gymnasium as well. In the Taijiquan event, Tan finished sixth with a score of 9.60 while compatriot Wee was seventh, just 0.01 points behind. Tan proved to be a very consistent performer, posting the same score at the Taijijian event. Wee scored 9.49 in this category.
