Veteran athletes and rising stars gathered at the Singapore Sports Hub to celebrate the two-day Community Open House. The highly anticipated Sports Hub will host the SEA Games in June 2015.
Present Team Singapore athletes who tried the new facilities were encouraged by the Sports Hub. Young Lions defender, Delwindar Singh felt "pumped up" by the sports hub and looked forward to Young Lions scoring a goal in SEA Games while fellow teammate Faris Azienuddin hoped that there would be more fans supporting them.
These were sentiments echoed by other Team Singapore athletes such as fencing star Ann Lee (below, far left) who was encouraged by the community spirit expressed by supporters at the Sports Hub and Daniel Ferizal who hoped to score a medal in each of the five principal events in the coming SEA Games.

Team Singapore’s old guard were also behind the young athletes. Donald Koh, former national badminton player and C Kunalan, Singapore’s most successful track and field athlete believed that local support would play an important role. They also hoped that the young ones would spring a few surprises with the SEA Games held on home soil next year.
