The Netball games at the Singapore National Games (SNG) 2014 concluded with several teams claiming the respective divisions' titles on 2 November and it was led by team SportSG's exciting displays.

SportSG's last match in particular, against Kampung WA was arguably one of the best games to watch in the whole tournament, with a tiebreaker being required to decide the victors.

Initially on both ends of the court, the defenders worked hard to keep the ball out of the shooter’s hand. However, SportSG drew first blood and it opened up the game as both sides tried to outscore each other.

Eventually, SportSG saw out the game 19-14 to top the group and emerge as the Division B (X&Y) champions.

According to the team captain, Pearline Chan, a former national team player, many of the team members were new to team and they came from different sports background. Hence, they had went into the tournament with low expectations.

"I think our aim was not about, "oh we must go out there and win!" It's really to allow people to play netball and to promote sports and healthy lifestyle." Chan said.

Nine teams were awarded the top-three prizes. For the Under 18 category, Katana Ikan Bilis topped the table with a goal difference of two, setting them as the Champion Team of the category.

For Division A, Llabten clinched first-place after putting up a strong fight against the other five teams.

Yu Bee Ling, the team captain for Llabten, shared her happiness, "I guessed, it was all teamwork. I mean netball is a team sport. So I guess everyone plays a part."
