Red Bull Singapore (Product of Europe) took over the badminton courts on 25 Oct with the much anticipated Red Bull Smash Zone challenge. This one of a kind competition brought a whole new level of excitement to the time-honoured game of badminton for both enthusiasts and supporters of all ages and skill-levels.

The qualifiers started early this Saturday morning and saw about 250 participants and spectators filling up Pasir Ris Sports Hall.

Excitement and applause filled the air as spectators witnessed battles of skill and wit. The loudest gasps and cheers were reserved for the shots that found the smash zone, allowing the shuttlers to gain three quick points.

However, it was not all about power smashes, as quick thinking and swift reflexes played a critical role too. When a point could be easily gained with a deft move, it can very well become the deciding factor, if a player makes it through or crashes out in spectacular fashion.

The finals will see the best 31 men's and 4 women's singles battle it out for a total of S$4,000 cash as well as Li Ning products to be won, and bragging rights as champions at the first ever Red Bull Smash Zone 2014. The finals will be held on Sat, 8 Nov 2014 from 11:00am at the *Scape Ground Theatre.
