This November, catch some of swimming’s fiercest rivalries in Singapore at the FINA Swimming World Cup 2013. The short course championships return to the Singapore Sports School on 5 and 6 November with a line-up of Olympic medalists, world champions and record holders.

A change in the series format this year sees a significant pot of money catered to each cluster. Singapore kicks off the first leg of the Asian cluster, which includes China and Japan. The winners of the Asian cluster stands to win a total prize money of USD$306,000, a substantial three-fold increase in prize money.

Sprint queens Olympic medalists Ranomi Kromowidjojo (NED) and Aleksandra Gerasimenya (BLR) will be racing neck-to-neck to vie for the freestyle event medals. Kromowidjojo raced to gold in a new Olympic record at the 2012 London Games beating Gerasimenya by a mere 0.23 seconds. Get set for a nail biting and scintillating finish as they recreate another intense race in the water.

Expect swimmers such as Christian Sprenger (AUS), Katinka Hosszu (HUN), Michael Jamieson (GBR) and Roland Schoeman (RSA) as they make their appearance in Singapore for the swim meet. Fans can anticipate intriguing competition as the world’s best swimmers battle it out in the pool for what will be one of their final chances to climb up the overall rankings.

Strong Local Representation

Catch a strong representation of Singapore swimmers in the sixth leg of the eight-series World Cup. Household names such as Tao Li, Amanda Lim, Mylene Ong and Danny Yeo will be striving for podium positions and personal bests at the World Cup before heading to Myanmar for December’s SEA Games.

Heats will be held at 9.00am and the finals at 5.30pm on both days. Tickets are available at www.finaworldcup.com.sg or call +65 6258 1011 for more information.
