OCBC Cycle Singapore 2014 returns to unite cyclists!

The wildly successful OCBC Cycle 2014 returns for the sixth time and launches with its new tagline “Cyclists Unite!” to celebrate the nation’s burgeoning culture of cycling.

The mass participation cycling event will take place from 28-30th March at the F1 Pit Building and is expected to draw a capacity crowd of 12,000 cyclists.

Once again, sports fans can look forward to an exciting night of thrilling action during the Professional Criterium which that will take place on 28th March 2013, Friday evening. Professional Australian based cycling team ORICA-GreenEDGE will be looking forward to their third consecutive win, after Robbie McEwen and Simon Clarke victorious triumphs in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

OCBC Singapore Pro Cycling Team, Singapore’s only professional cycling team will also return to defend their Cycle Asia King of the Sprints and Best Asian Rider titles which they won in 2013.

Saturday and Sunday will host the various mass participation rides. Registration is now open with the following categories that cater to cyclists across all age groups and skills.

 28th March 2013, Friday:

·         Women’s Open Criterium

·         Men’s Open

·         Masters' 

29th March 2013, Saturday:

·         Tricycle Ride (100m or 150m)

·         The Mighty Savers Kids Ride (5km)

·         The Junior Challenge (30 minutes)

·         The Ultimate Foldies Challenge (fastest & best dressed Foldies)

30th March 2013, Sunday:

·         The Super Challenge (59km)

·         The Challenge (39km)

·         The Community Ride (24km)

The Charity Challenge (39km) will be encompassed within The Challenge. Cyclists who are keen to ride for a cause must make a minimum donation of SGD 3,000 (team of four) or SGD 750 (individual) to their choice of the event’s three official charitable organizations, on top of the registration fees. These organizations include Singapore Children’s Society, SingHealth Transplant TRUEfun and SportsCares, the philanthropic arm of the Singapore Sports Council.

There will also be a Sports & Lifestyle Expo held at the F1 pit building that is open to all. The Expo will feature more than 100 booths offering exclusive deals on cycling-related products.

OCBC Cycle Singapore is endorsed and supported by Singapore Sports Council (SSC) and the Singapore Cycling Federation (SCF).
