Petanque isn’t a common sport in Singapore, with many people scarcely even knowing what the sport is about. As such, finding a playing area to enjoy a game of petanque locally can be hard, despite there being more than a hundred petanque courts in Singapore. The Housing Development Board (HDB) has been building petanque pits through the years in order to encourage seniors to take up the sport, and youths have also been showing interest. Here are some of the places where you can play petanque in Singapore, although this list is non-exhaustive.
NORTH
Toa Payoh

The petanque terrain in Toa Payoh is easily one of the most established and recognised in Singapore, with it being used by Petanque Singapore and Sports Boules Singapore, the local association for the sport.
Located at Toa Payoh Sports Hall, there are eight petanque playing areas available for people to use and enjoy. These courts belong to ActiveSG.
SOUTH
Tiong Bahru

The petanque court at Tiong Bahru is located at the Delta Sports and Recreation Centre. It is located in the south of Singapore, near to the central business district. Like the court in Toa Payoh, this one belongs to ActiveSG.
EAST
Marine Parade

The petanque court located in the heartlands of Marine Parade has just been upgraded several years ago, and is open to public use.
WEST
Jurong East

Another ActiveSG court, members can book the petanque terrain available to them at Jurong East Sports Center.
Taman Jurong

Located in the heartlands of Taman Jurong, this petanque court is one of the biggest in Singapore.
Jurong West

West Singapore has one of the highest concentration of petanque courts in the country, and games are played almost daily. Located at the Jurong Green Community Club, this is one of the petanque courts in Singapore that sees the most activity.
Choa Chu Kang

There are several outdoor petanque sandpits that are made available to the public’s use at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium, all of which are owned by ActiveSG. The public can also access the petanque sandpit located at one of Singapore’s largest public parks, known as the Choa Chu Kang Mega Playground.
