T2 Diamond Table Tennis League 2019 is one of the most prestigious series of annual professional events. The tournament will feature 32 of the world’s best male and female table tennis players vying for a combined prize purse of USD 1.5 million, as well as bonus International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Ranking points as they battle their way to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic qualification.
This unparallelled competition aims to shake up the world’s table tennis scene prior to the Olympic year and it is also a chance for players to take the last sprint to rise to the top of the ITTF World Tour standings.
Known as one of the most premier sports hubs of Southeast Asia, Singapore will be playing host to the finale of the T2 Diamond 2019 from 21 to 24 November 2019.
The T2 Cavern will take shape for the third and final time in Our Tampines Hub, Singapore’s largest community and lifestyle hub, for a final four days of electrifying table tennis.
The aim of hosting an international event at a regional sports hub is to defy the rules of traditional sporting events by adapting and evolving with the host city’s long term goals; in this case for Singapore, it is to not only increase the opportunities in sports but also be able to engage and activate the community.
The Singapore finale is likely to feature Feng Tianwei as her current ITTF ranking is at the world’s 12th position. In addition to Feng, Team Singapore paddlers Clarence Chew and Yu Mengyu have also been confirmed as Singapore's Host Exemption players for the Singapore finale.
So what are you waiting for? Come support our Team Singapore paddlers at this inaugural competition and see table tennis in a new light!
