Last week at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex, the usual patrons were in for a treat as they witnessed Southeast Asia’s only deep-water solo event. Organised by Sport Singapore, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and People’s Association Youth Movement, SUTD CRUX 2018 brought a unique spin to the sport of rock climbing.
Rather than being secured on belay, CRUX competitors would have an 8 meter dip into a pool to break their fall.
Featuring a whole plethora of fringe activities ranging from Flippa Ball to KpopX Fitness, the mainstay of the event was the Adventure Climb. From 2nd to 5th August, CRUX competitors put their skills to the test as part of the Singapore National Games. Figuratively and literally, it was a race to the top. Here are the final results from the sessions:

Being only in it’s second year, CRUX offers a unique blend of high and wet elements, opening newer possibilities for sports and another outlet to have some fun in the sun.
