Not regular with exercise or a first timer with little or no knowledge? The programmes are modified and catered for all fitness levels, allowing you to progress at your own pace.

Our various health and community partners will also provide knowledge and expertise to assist Masters in their sporting activities.

Masters can also bring along their wealth of experience and contribute to the community by volunteering with us. To find out about upcoming volunteer opportunities, visit www.volunteers.sg or drop by the nearest sport centre to speak to our guest officers for more information.

*Note: Are you sports safe? If you are planning to become more physically active than before or you are not used to being active, you may need to check with your doctor before getting started. Use the PAR-Q tool to assess your physical ability before engaging in any physical activities at the particular moment.

Gym Tonic

Gym Tonic is an effective, evidence-based strength training programme that improves the functional abilities of the elderly. Gym tonic uses state of the art gym machines, measuring equipment, evidence based assessment protocols and advanced software to offer smart (Safe, Measurable, Automated, Rehabilitative and Targeted) strength training to seniors. This exercise-as-medicine concept is a partnership between organisations from Singapore and Finland. By progressively building muscle mass and strength, it is a proven way to help the elderly extend their independence and functional years.

The programme flow for Gym Tonic:

Briefing – All interested participants must attend the briefing to understand the requirement first before they are allowed to register for the programme.

Pre-Assessment – Participants will be going through a series of assessment to understand their baseline and suitability for the programme.

Guided Training – Participants will be guided during the training for all 24 sessions across 12 weeks to familiarise themselves with the training.

Post-Assessment – Participants will go through the same assessment as the pre-assessment to measure the change before and after the training.

Maintenance – Participants will be “discharged” but can continue the training on their own after post-assessment. If required, they can join the programme again.

For more information, check out Gym Tonic website.
