Travel Advisory

As the 2019-nCoV situation in China continues to evolve, the Ministry of Health advises travellers to defer all non-essential travel to Mainland China. Families with students who intend to travel overseas, or have returned from overseas in the past 14 days, should declare their travel plans and travel history to their child’s coaches promptly.

Leave of Absence for students returning from China

To safeguard the health of all members of our ActiveSG A&Cs, ActiveSG will take alignment from MOE to implement a Leave of Absence (LOA) of 14 days for students returning from Mainland China. This means that any students returning from Mainland China during this period should not attend ActiveSG A&C programme for 14 days from the date of their return to Singapore, as a precautionary measure.

They should:

  1. Declare their travel history to the respective ActiveSG A&C coaches;
  2. Not report for ActiveSG A&C programme during the 14-day period;
  3. Monitor their health and seek medical attention promptly if feeling unwell.

[For illustration purposes: The date of return to Singapore would be considered Day 0. The student may then return to ActiveSG A&C programme on Day 15. What this means is: If you return to Singapore from Mainland China on 28 Jan 2020 (Day 0), you may attend ActiveSG A&C on 12 Feb 2020 (Day 15).]

While our Coaches will actively look out for students’ well-being, please monitor your child’s health and ensure that your child adopt good personal hygiene habits. During this time, we seek your understanding and support for the well-being of everyone. Let’s keep calm, stay safe and keep healthy, and play our important part together!

For more information concerning the Wuhan Coronavirus (2019-NCOV) situation, please visit Ministry of Health Singapore (https://www.moh.gov.sg/2019-ncov-wuhan) for the latest advisories. We advise members of the public to not speculate and/or spread unfounded rumours.
